 I love PP'ing my images. Which is why they usually turn out horrible , I just get really bored with long exposures, I can't stand just sitting there doing nothing. It's worse when it's freeeeezing outside - even worse when you're doing star trails

Sheesh, just get your butler/manservant to do it for you!

Oh wait... wrong jake :D

You're confusing the D800 with the 5D3.

1Ds > 20d > 5DIII > D800

Not enough for my liking! AF with the 2x failed on me more than I'd like to admit--1.4x wouldn't be much better.

using your 300 2.8 ?

its the shooting that I consider fun...and the PP afterwards I consider a chore

Yep. I tried to con my son into doing it for me, but he told me to go fly a kite.

you can solve that with 2 cameras

or if you have tons of filters...you can arrange and sort em out while waiting for your exposure to be done. I actually get a lot of exercise doing long exposure, I am forced to bend down on my knees, crouch to check the angle, stand still and wait... and force me to go down difficult areas just to take a shot

i know julian, jake, and steven have a markins. im sure others do too :P

my setup is...

http://www.bhphotovideo.com …Section_Carbon_Fiber.html (external link)

http://www.bhphotovideo.com …98RC2_Midi_Ball_Head.html (external link)

legs are light but the head is heavy :P

good for traveling.

I may just need to get another pair of legs for traveling then. My ex-piece-of-crap-tri-pod (which is an EX now), weighed probably less than a pound. So while my $3000 camera setup sat atop that $50 ex-piece-of-crap-tri-pod I was fearing for it's life every time!

ohhh right...he must be tall  3541LS is tall enough...XLS would be humongous

Well all it said was in the description "I am selling this because I just bought the 4-section, Series 3 Systematic tripod to replace it."

Who cares though? I just saved close to $200 on a tripod that's in perfect condition except for some minor cosmetic blemishes on the center column.

I think that's a pretty good deal  here in our country... very few probably knows the brand, they don't have a presence here coz most people consider Manfrotto High end already hehe

No, 70-200 II. As a birding lens, it is utterly useless I'm afraid.

hahahaha.... I tried learning some stuff, but I am not motivated enough to use what I learn so I forget them after a while.

its the shooting that I consider fun...and the PP afterwards I consider a chore

yeah ... I felt guilty the other day after we got home from the beach, I was inside the bathroom giving my Gitzo a bath while the GF was waiting for me to finish

 Poor girl!

Horribly wrong!

I actually hate it when people tell me my parents buy me all my stuff cause I work my ass off for my stuff!

You can change filters? I guess if you have a sturdy enough tri-pod and a good enough ball head you don't have to worry as much about camera shake?

I would look at another alternative for the ball head.

Well - Manfrotto costs probably 3x as much than it does here !

But check out the US eBay, you can usually have things shipped to you - otherwise if not, I'm sure that you can find a proxy where you pay them and they buy the item and then send it to you.

Btw, what tripod do you use?

Hey, some people are forced to sell their own bodies to pay for camera bodies. By comparison, you've got it good :p
