After looking at the samples from the D800, I'm pretty impressed. That thing has the same photosite size as the D7000, but behaves better, even when looking at pixel-level noise.

Where did you see this?

I fail to see how any of the Rebels are crappy...

It's not, IMO. That's the thing with Canons. The entry level cameras have for a long time been as good IQ-wise as the mid-level cameras.

I keep asking myself if I really need that lens. I don't shoot things that require more than 200mm.

400mm isn't that long... but if you don't use it, don't buy it :D

Nice! The 6400 is usable for sure. The 12800 isn't that bad either. Nikon has a winner! :D

That's why I think the 200 f2 VR 2 is a wise choice. :) So the lineup would be 14-24,24-70, 70-200, 85, 200 f2. Done! :)

If you want it. It's your money :D. To me f2 and f2.8 isn't different enough for me to justify getting a 200 f2 when the 70-200 f2.8's are so fantastic these days.

I understand, same way I want a 500 f4L ... I didn't buy one yesterday because I don't think I have the time to use it. Maybe once I get a patent job (which hopefully will let me have some kind of weekends) I'll buy the new MKII :D
