should I replace my 17-40 for a 14/15mm?

Lately, I've been thinking how redundant my 17-40mm is considering I already have a 24-105 that can cover most of it's range.
The only time I use my 17-40 is when going for WA shots at 17mm.
This made me think.. should I just sell it and get a Samyang 14mm or Canon 15mm instead?

Went through the Lens photo samples and saw that they can be used for landscape.
Not a big fan of lens distortion though, is this fixable?

Firstly, there's a big difference between 17mm to 24mm at the widest and 40mm to 105mm at the longest so I don't really see a redundance...IMO, two very diffrent lens.

Second....how often do you shoot at 17mm range and do you see yourself needing a wider focal range.

Also, the Canon 15mm is a fisheye lens.... it will strongly bend any straight lines in the image that aren't precisely centered.

The Samyang 14mm (also Bower, Rokinon and Vivitar 13mm... they are all the same lens) has fairly strong "moustache" distortion. You can buy software to correct it. I think it's called "PT Lens". The 14mm is also a strictly manual lens... manual focus and manual aperture. So it's going to be slower to work with and when you stop it down a bit, your viewfinder is going to get dark.

Sigma 12-24mm F4.5-5.6 DG HSM II would be a great lens for you then.

I've considered doing the same. The only thing stopping me is the difficulty (impossibility?) of using filters on the Samyang/Rok/etc. Is the color of the Samyang comparable to the 17-40?

When on vacation or doing some landscape shots I use the 24-105 most of the time and reach the 17-40 only to shoot at 17mm.
There are some times that I wish I still had something wider.
I wish I could afford the Canon 14mm f/2.8 but I think my gf would kill me if I get one right now.
