I have searched the forum and found a few answers to my question but not what i fully need to make a decision.

I am ready to purchase the Nik Software bundle but i am confused as to what version.

I currently have Lightroom 3 and Photoshop Elements 10. I do just about all adjusting in lightroom and use Elements for about 5% of my work. I also have color efex 4 already and it has the plugin for both but i only use it really in lightroom right now.

I am a teacher so i qualify for academic pricing so the bundle is 150 for the lightroom plug ins and 250 for the lightroom+photoshop plugins.

My question would be is there some advantage i am missing by saving $100 and just getting the lightroom version? I am not against spending the $250 i just need a reason to justify it. I know i have to be missing something?

The big advantage I see with having the Photoshop support included is that you can use the plug-in effect in a layer in Photoshop so that it can be revisited and adjusted (assuming that you keep the layers intact).

But as to what that may be worth to you I can't say!

I have the plugins for aperture only and once you hit the save button, you can't go back and tweak. If you want to change it, you have to go back and start over. I'm not sure if that's the way it works in PS. Having the ability to use it in PS too gives you more options. I rarely use PS, and didn't want to spend the extra $100! I've been very happy with the product.

I am no help, but just want to say if I remember the small print correctly a person can use an academic discount once a year.

If that is true it might affect what you use the discount on.
