Hi all! I wanted to share our latest adventure with you. This one was filmed over 4 days with no help, just the two of us and one camera. Editing was done over the course of a week or so and all music has been purchased royalty free, as well as buying all the equipment.

We like to think that we have upped our game a little bit as we have never really done anything with guns. We really enjoyed making this one, we had complaints from the public, but settled them as well as having to seek permission to film on land which turned out great in the end.

I hope that you can spare 18 minutes of your time on this?! We will then be looking to do shorts after this for a while. I'm sure the budding film makers will be able to understand the amount of time something like this takes. Hundreds of angles, hours and hours of footage all compiled, sometimes you wont even notice the transitions in things that we had to film multiple angles for. But we love doing it, it's worth it in the end.

Here it is:

New Intel has been received on a group of mercenaries led by a man known as Dmitri Kozlov. He is a huge threat to our safer world and must be dealt with immediately. Captain Miller has been sent in to kill Kozlov.

Thanks all! We look forward to your feedback, whatever it may be. I've already noticed one or two things with it, but nothing major.

I think we can rest easy in the knowledge that when Steve Seagull finally goes home to roost there will be something to fill the void.

There were some great angles and very clever camera work there. Aside some issues with lighting I thought the filming and editing was very good.

I'm afraid I wasn't entirely sure how to take the story as I wasn't sure if it was meant to be a spoof or not. I'm more than happy to join you in a leap into make believe but I do need a small toe hold in reality.

Interesting and overall, pretty well done. That looks like a lot of work was put in by you guys. Hopefully you had some fun doing it and enjoyed the whole proccess. Good work!

Like John said, there were a couple spots that some very basic lighting tools would have helped for a couple of spots. A basic shiny board would have helped a ton.

I did have a hard time believing that a human, with no body armor takes two shots to the center of his abdomain and gets back up to kill the target and then walk out on his own without bleeding to death. Other than that I had a fairly open mind about this. We know this isn't a Hollywood production, so we let a lot go and just enjoy. Again, I say, Good job!

Well the video was good but not for the tactics used in the film.

So what are you saying? Snipers trained in concealment and subterfuge don't approach heavily fortified enemy strongholds walking up the middle of a field and using the gates? Who would have thought?

And surely if there is an inconsequential enemy foot soldier in the woods not bothering you, and unaware of your existence, you would most certainly shoot him with an unsilenced rifle so as to alert his compatriots rather than sneak around him and remain unnoticed so as to continue to your primary objective.

LOL do I note some sarcasm there John. Snipers don't operate by themselves either. They operate in two man teams, spotter and shooter. The camo pattern on the sniper's face was kind of ridiculous as well with the Black X through the middle of his face.

Film was pretty good, moving scenes could definitely use a stedicam but overall I thought it was good.

Filming was great although you could improve on editing. Try grading the footage next time.

Not bad guys. I can see the work you put in on this. I'm really interested in seeing your next project with all of the experience you got putting this one together.

Haha thanks for the comments everyone! Gave me a giggle!

But as Chas said, this isn't Hollywood, we are not actors, we have little/no experience with the Army/Marines etc just what we have seen in films, it's all just a bit of fun and our main hobby. :D

Though, I think now that we have done this and got some feedback, here and elsewhere, we can only improve on what we have done. :)

Nicely put that man but if you want to portray realism do not let Hollywood be your bench mark ;-)a

Not bad considering your resources. I think your angles were good as far as following cuts. They made sense for the most part but there is a lot that could be tightened up here as far as shot length, choice cuts and acting. There were a lot of repeated scenes in there, I understand that the main character is progressing against the odds to reach his objective, but I just got the feeling like I wanted something in-between the kills....more audio..more dialogue...more communication to HQ... or even the main char. eating an energy bar etc...something to separate time and show change in distance. Overall I felt like the acting of the main character was not aggressive enough to match the "Spec-OPS" role. If this were trying to be a serious film that is.... and if not then there were not enough goofy bits or parody references like from CoD to make it a parody. Anyhow, overall I think you guys did good and if you had fun and learned from it then all the better! Just never be afraid to throw away and cut footage. Think "Big film!" cuts...and watch and observe the average time of a good "big film" shot.

Oh and I love some of the locations there! Looks like old English structure. No so much of that in the U.S. to shoot in.

For an amateur out of your comfort zone you did well. However if your trying to become a sniper I would suggest staying on the couch and playing silent scope.

Noisiest sniper ever. And walks out into the open without checking corners, and he assumes the kill way to quickly.

But I'm guessing your not a military professional, and your friend is not a Russian so I'll give you a B+ for decent film work and acceptable editing.

Your blood splatter could be more convincing but it held my attention till the credits which is more then I can say for most amateurs.

Thanks for the comments guys, I will be passing them on to my mate who does all the editing.

Extremely grateful that you atleast sat through it.

@Static, yes, Wales does have some decent places. :D
