The day I got my 7d, eos info went to pay per use. I've been trying to install gphoto2 on my mac but haven't got it to work. There's got to be an easier way to check.

I have a 5D MK2 , I downloaded the utility from this page;
http://astrojargon.net/EOSInfo.aspx (external link)

Worked like a charm.
It doesn't work with every camera but check it out an d see if it works for yours.

Does anybody know if this works for the 60D?

No, it does not work. You will need eoscount.com, gphoto2 or Magic Lantern with the 60D.

Or at the very least, allow me to spend $10 and have lifetime access.

Jay_S wrote in post #14885229 (external link)
Well then maybe the answer is have a $1.50 one time use fee and offer a usage fee..

Hello All,
I know that there was a need for a "frequent user" option. I mentioned plans for such an option a few pages back, but it was difficult to find free nights or weekends to implement it.

However, I've just added a feature to have unlimited readings on per-camera basis. After a one-time $4.59 payment, all future shutter count checks from the camera used during the payment are free (another camera would be another $4.59, etc). $10 would buy lifetime readings from two cameras and still have some change left.

I hope frequent users will find this feature useful. The paid camera(s) will have free shutter count checks for the life of the camera, even if sold or gifted.

Bravo sergeyv! Now let's hope that we won't start getting complaints that the life-time fee is too expensive. Keep up the great work.

Thanks, Sergey!

Perhaps a better pricing structure:
• $2 for a single use
• $5 for unlimited single camera
• $10 for unlimited cameras

Thanks for the suggestion, but an unlimited cameras option will not be possible for several reasons. If you occasionally want to test a new camera, then 1.50 is not a lot on top of your cameras with unlimited readings.

Have you looked into the option of using Amazon Payments (external link) instead of/in addition to PayPal?

I paid and installed, but when I connect my 1DIV, windows searches for drivers, says it was not successfully installed, and no shutter count info... :(

Anyone else have this problem?

Tried restarting browser, tried both 64 and 32 bit...

Yes I could never get it to work on my 60D.

I tried different browsers & different computers & all kinds of combinations. For most people it works fine.

My solution was to use Magic Lantern.

I just plugged in my new 5d mk3; its showing serial number of "14" will this be accurate/corrected after purchase?

-- I purchased a single read for this camera, the serial is still showing "14". The serial is correct in the EXIF of the pictures...

Weird. It worked for me last night using 32-bit IE.

2002 actuations, though now that I know, I'm really hesitant to use it very much.
