Update: I had a problem getting this to work b/c my PC is a work computer and has too many restrictions placed on downloads, drivers, etc, and at home I run all Mac.

Borrowed my neighbor's pc and had no trouble with either of the 1DIV cameras in my possession right now (anybody want to buy one? :) ).

Sergey was super fast with responses when I was having trouble, and the couple of dollars I paid to get these counts is well worth it. Great program. Highly recommended.

I am unable to get eoscount.com to work on my 7D with the 2.0 Firmware update. It just says "AVAILABLE" for the shutter count although it identifies the camera on the page. Not sure if anyone else has seen this issue or not.

"Available" is what it shows before you pay for the service. Did you pay?

Gphoto2, took me some fumbling around but i got it.

Now that this is a paid service, shouldn't it be moved?

I really just don't care about the shutter count. I have no interest in even looking. My camera will not last any longer, nor die sooner if I know, and I'd rather just enjoy my camera until it dies randomly.

Yeah, he's charging for it now. It's just a utility.....

There are free ones out there like EOS Info - http://astrojargon.net/EOSInfo.aspx (external link) It didn't grab the serial number, but it's just the shutter count I'm looking for.

EOScount.

It worked on my 5d MK3.

Getting there is a little bit vague, you have to pay a small amount $1.49 - I think. Follow the instructions closely.

Bottom Line: After trying an untold number of options, this one is the only one that worked for the 5D Mark 3

I got it to work now. I think the problem was that it opened up in Google Chrome instead of Internet Explorer. I just clicked on the Internet Explorer tab in Chrome and now it works.

glad it worked! :D

Does it work on the 5D classic?

I'd be curious if someone could take a single camera and use each of the various shutter count applications out there just to see if they give a consistent reading.

Taking photos with a fancy camera does not make me a photographer.

A guy on another forum said that it worked on the 5D Mark II and 1D Mark IV.
