I researched, re-booted the computer etc but still no luck. I ended up paying twice for the service.

I now its not a lot of money but I hope the administrator might be able to compensate.

you run it from your computer, but nothing is installed. Works a treat. I'm almost 25% through my camera (5d2) at 35,000 photos to date.

just bought a used 450d, ran this out of curiosity, 3639. simple and quick to use. thanks teaco:)

Thanks!

I just ran it on my computer - simple!

15,346 clicks on my 5D mkIII, a bit less than I expected.

Cheers.

Works fine with my T1i and it's free. Shutter count value is very much is line with the stated picture count. Didn't understand the value given for the serial number - not what is on the label on the camera bottom.

I tried to read my camera's shutter count with no luck, I connect it with the usb cable and it doesnt do anything, I clicked connect and at the botttom line it says shutter count done! and it doesnt give me any information.
The EOSinfo program didnt read it too.
What can I do? and the camera is connected to the pc, I can see it in my computer.

The software developer for that site hangs out here every once in a while. Just hold on and he'll answer your question within a couple of days or so.

Are you trying with the 5DC?

That one is to old to be supported, not only by this tool, but in general.

"Support EOS: 1000D,1100D,450D,500D,550D,600D,650D,40D,50D,60D,7D,5DMKII,5DMKIII,1DMKIV,1DX"

It has something to do with the generation of DIGIC chip. My old 30D isn't supported by any tools either.

Screen capture said it was a 7D.

True, but that's not TheNewLegend's screen captures.

Thanks for the link!

I used this on my 60D, but I download the Canon file and installed it. It comes to you as a 1.8 Mb zip file and runs on 64-bit Windows 7 with no issues. The download link is the yellow-orange "Download" box on the left side of the page, half way down. Link to a direct download:

Unlike EOSCOUNT this app seems to get its shutter count from a jpeg file. Has anyone done a comparison between the 2 app to see if they get the same number?

I was under the impression that Canon cameras didn't store the shutter count in the EXIF data.

Seems that kwando has. Also the Canon version is a downloadable fully executable file which reads directly from the USB tethered camera.

Good to know.

Unfortunately, neither solution works with either of my cameras:-(

Thanks very much teaco. Works perfect and better hat the paid version as you have to pay for single count check or unlimited and locked for just one camera based on its serial number.
