works so much easier than those stupid free ones!! well worth the $1,79!!!

Canon 70D/70-200 f4/17-55 2.8/BG-E9/430EZ I like DSLR's. It makes a distinction between photo fans and normal people who don't give a damn how a picture could look like

It was well worth the $800 I paid, considering that I could check it at point of sale.

Well worth the 1.79, when i first got my refurb 6D, i looked at the file numbering(3xxx something) and just assumed it had 3xxxx something clicks on it. Turns out it has only 541, and i bet i put 400 of those on there. Lol

Hi,

There is no connection between this link and our software. Our app, ShutterCount supports the Canon 70D. For more info visit our site: http://www.direstudio.com/shuttercount (external link)

Agnes

A reminder: this software advertised by AgnesL does not use Canon SDK to determine shutter count. It is not equivalent to EOSCount, which uses Canon SDK and also has a Mac version available on http://www.eoscount.com (external link).

This software (windows) was just updated for the 6D. I have confirmed that it works and I compared it to the count I got from gphoto. It uses the EDSDK.dll which is part of the canon SDK. The software is free, but you can give a donation.

Unfortunately, this software is reverse engineered (e.g. copied) from EOSCount in its most important area - the one that determines a shutter count. I can see that the assembly code is identical to an older EOSCount version and contains watermarks I left in EOSCount code. In my private emails with this website owner, they also confirmed they did not write the code to determine the shutter count (but rather copied it).

While I don't mind private use of this software, I want to ask you not to advertise it publicly on this forum.

By-the-way, the EOSCount version is it copied from is an old one (from summer 2013) and does not contain several important bug fixes. See, for example, that no serial number (and other info) is shown. Therefore, be aware that this program is not equivalent to the current EOSCount version.

What software? This thread discusses three or four different shutter count programs.

If its http://eoscount.com/ (external link) it should install the control automatically or just click the highlighted word "download".

If its http://www.shutteractuations.com/ (external link) good luck - theres a lot of grief picking the right button to click on - otherwise you get unwanted software.

BE VERY CAREFUL!

Unfortunately there are SCAM advertisers that take advantage of websites like EOSCount and try to trick you into downloading their software.

Before you run the download make sure you have the right software. It should look like this:

Instead of paying each time you want to know your shutter count with EOScount
On the App store for Mac there is a nice one >> ShutterCount
only $ 2.99 unlimited reading and unlimited camera !! ( read the list of supported camera first )

You have also here >> http://www.talkphotography.co.uk …non-dslr-on-a-mac.468385/ (external link)

Be careful of paying unwanted hard earned money for this thread. Last I read this thread got a very bad buy and bad advice.

There is real free softwares out there that are very effect and only wish was to see them earlier before getting into this misleading thread.

I’ve made a Mac OS X app that reads shutter count of a Canon EOS cameras.

It is called EOS Inspector. http://eosinspectorapp.com (external link)

Download it for free on the Mac App Store (external link) 👍.
