Note that app isn’t for iOS. I bought an iPhont app called shutterCount that works with Canon models that have wifi ability.

EF 135mm 2.0L, EF 70-200mm 2.8L IS II, EF 24-70 2.8L II, EF 50mm 1.4, EF 100mm 2.8L Macro, EF 16-35mm 4L IS, Sigma 150-600mm C, 580EX, 600EX-RT, MeFoto Globetrotter tripod, grips, Black Rapid RS-7, CAMS plate and strap system, Lowepro Flipside 500 AW, and a few other things...

Which app are you referring to?

The link I provided (https://shuttercheck.a​pp/ (external link)) has in its specs "macOS 10.11 El Capitan or later is required". I'm no Apple expert but isn't that "iOS"?

No, iOS is Apple's mobile operating system and is not the same thing as macOS. So I suggested ShutterCount as an iOS app (for new Canon models). iOS is smaller and not as complex as a full desktop OS. It supports ARM chips instead of Intel and all peripheral drivers. It can't run full programs that aren't apps you get from iTunes store. These are just some examples as to why a mobile OS is different then a desktop OS. Instead of names, iOS versions are also referred to by number (iOS 12 just came out).
