I recently ordered what Amazon described as a "CowboyStudio PT-04 4 Channel Wireless Hot Shoe Flash Receiver", thinking it would work with my "StudioHut PT-04 4 channel Wireless Radio Hot Shoe Slave Flash Trigger Receiver".

What I received was a Blazzeo Meg Trig SLT-4 receiver. Probably no surprise that it does not work with the StudioHut transmitter. Should it? Also, if I actually had received the CowboyStudio PT-04, should it work with the StudioHut, or do you have to stick with the same brands?

I pretty much took a chance in buying a different brand, thinking they might all be the same thing since there are so many companies hocking the same PT-04 named transmitters.

Cowboy Studio has a poor reputation for customer service too. Good luck getting anything done about a return or exchange.

There is little cross-compatibility in radio receivers and transmitters....stick with same brand transmitter and receiver. The exception is using Pocket Wizard transmitters with studio flash units that advertise receivers which are compatible with Pocket Wizard transmitters for triggering signal. (ETTL compatibility is a whole different ballgame)

I tried to look up the operating frequency of the Blazzeo, and find that the Blazzeo seems to mainly be marketed in the Phillipines!?

Haha, that figures! The Blazzeo is definitely going back. Meanwhile, the StudioHut works like a champ on my 270EX, 470EX II, and even my old 277T that came with my dad's Canon T-70. Very happy with it, just need more receivers.
