As it turns out, 4G is currently not available here in the desert yet, so I don't have a problem. I did get to connect with 4G briefly when we were in Orange County a couple days back, and it is a lot faster. It does make me curious, though. I'm going to check and see how much of my monthly 2Gigs I've used with just the normal browsing I do.

From what i have read if you stream video for an hour you will used up 2gigs. I do appreciate the 4G connection. Really snappy. Great coverage all over NYC.

Just checked mine, and it says I've used 343 MB since 3/16, and have 1705 MB remaining for 24 days. Since I only had a portion of one day on 4G, it does appear like it's going to go fast. I'll have to be careful

Moorning...

I thought 4G was on hold due to potential conflict with GPS, no?

No - that's LightSquared, who bought a block of satellite comms spectrum leases and wanted to build a land-based system in that frequency zone, which would have obliterated any high-precision GPS work. The regular wireless telcos are using spectrum that's allocated for ground-based mobile communications, and doesn't interfere with GPS or other satellite bands. However, I've seen at least some reports that AT&T's latest (nominally 3G, though they're calling it 4G based on performance) devices are faster than the Verizon LTE 4G devices.

^^^That! And Hulu. And that other thingamajig app I have installed on my tablet, but I forget what it's called.

There's TONS of TV shows and movies out there ready and willing to eat up all o' yer bandwidth.

And, when you aren't streaming video, how's about audio? Pandora, anyone? It's the audio that really kills you anyway. Rip a DVD and you'll find out that the audio track takes up a helluva lot more hard drive space than the video part...

A lot of people are starting to complain about the pricing plans. Wouldnt surprise me if they raised the GB allotment in the future (example instead of 2GB at 30, 3GB at 30 etc)

Then there's people like me, with T-Mobile, where (so far) unlimited actually means unlimited...

Of course, I don't usually prefer to press my luck. I might occasionally stream Pandora via my cell phone on the drive to/from work (an hour's drive each way), but I do most of the heavy lifting when I'm borrowing a wifi connection from someone...

Hard to beat free and it works as well as any of the paid recovery programs I've tried.

Thanks for the link Dan.

I know it skirts the topic of politics but do you guys have to run a gauntlet of volunteers handing out how to vote forms from each political party? State election here today an Tracey and I walked around to the kids old school to vote. I hate it, there are usually at least 5 people from each party and in our area we have 4 candidates.

Yea, we have the same. They have to stand something like 500 feet away from the polls, but they are there. Just part of the process. I usually just say no thanx, I've already done my homework and pass on by. They are not very aggressive and let you pass without indecent.

I do the same, but can be closer to the booths. It's the number that gripes on me.
