To much damage to the ecology of the cinder cone.

This was summer of 1967. Hiking up that cinder cone was a challenge because of the loose cinder material. Sometimes it was like one step forward and two steps backwards, so I'm not surprised they closed it off. I'm going to have to dig out the slides I took on those hikes. There may be some shots that can't be duplicated anymore.
