I play in a pool at work. Whenever it get over 100 million, we kick in. I play more for insurance than anything else. I would hate not playing, having the pool win and they all leave leaving me to face Tuesday's all alone. That would be terrifying.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

I can't get excited about mega millions....have never played it, even when the jackpot gets huge.

Ah.

Hey Nick....what did you think of the Aberlour?

It has quite a kick . It was good, I don't think I'll be rushing out to grab a bottle for myself though, the more I try different Whiskeys the more I find that I really do prefer whiskeys like bourbon over scotch. But yeah, it was definitely a nice scotch, I drink a lot of my Whiskey neat, but I couldn't with that stuff.

Um Dan, the important word isn't "Mega"

Just sayin'

I love that dream. My wife and I plan how we would distribute it, how to invest, and how much to keep. It changes with the amount and we need to be prepared.

We do that too, but there is a major flaw in our plans. You have to actually buy tickets to be able to win...

When the lottery would get big I would sometimes pitch in to buy tickets with people at work. There were several people who paid in to buy tickets weekly but they never really won anything. The guys in the shop won $1500 one week, but there were 17 people in on it, so there wasn't much to go around. Most of them just put it back in to buy more tickets.

3rd from left.

I just tried to write down the names of the class. I can get to about 15 or so. it helped that we were all in the same class from grade 1 to 7. These days they mix the kids up each year.

I was gonna guess . . .

4th from the left, middle row. Or maybe 3rd from the left....

That . . .

My friend's parent's marriage was arranged. They did somewhat know each other before they got married at least. I know a lot of the marriages work out well, but I can only imagine what life would be like being married to someone you just really do not love or like, and having both families expect that you have a happy life together.

In general it seems like marriage has become a sham. People just don't respect it for what it is anymore.

Nah. It's just the celebs that you hear about. My first lasted 12 years; the current one's still going strong at 24.

Spring colors are as much fun as fall colors sometimes.

Yep. Down and back to Staunton, VA this weekend (American Shakespeare Company Actor's Renaissance for 3 shows, including one of the all-time greatest Richard III) and the Redbuds along I-81 were spectacular. Ann's going on down to the condo to redo the kitchen (she doesn't make me participate - one of the secrets to a successful marriage!), so I was driving solo and the pups needed me to open the can for tonight's dinner which sort of precluded photos.

Fry's didn't have what I needed, so I managed to get out of there without spending a dime. Found it online, and ordered it there.

We're going home today. I'm not looking forward to the drive, but can't wait to escape this place and sleep in my own bed tonight.

Cyberguys. Or Harbor Freight.

Jeez, by the time everybody finishes spending the jackpot for me there won't be anything left. I already have another friend who is planning on us visiting every Disney theme park in the world with the lottery money...

You sure MegaMillions will cover that? I mean, Disney seems to factor that into their price structure . . .

That's why we're counting on the big lottery jackpot. There's no way a little ol' $200 million jackpot would do it. But, now that it's almost $360, well... The Disney parks are just about affordable now!

Home.

It tool almost 10 hours to go 300 miles. More accurately, it was 8 3/4 hours to go the first 225 miles, and an hour and a quarter to do the last 75 miles.

The stretch from Las Vegas to Barstow was bumper-to-bumper crawl. From Barstow to San Bernardino, it really got slow. In Victorville, we hit rain, and had it all the way home. We passed several accidents, most of them rear-enders, but there was a particularly grizzly looking rollover accident at the bottom of Cajon Pass, just north of the point where the I-15 and I-215 come together. That backed traffic up all the way to Yermo. In the few places where we could actually make a little time, the stress level was over the moon because traffic would come to a dead stop with little or no warning. When we got to San Bernardino, we hit the race traffic from the Auto Club 400 NASCAR race. I got the feeling that most of the people who had been there were in an ugly mood because the race was rain-shortened. At least they drove like they were secretly hoping to kill someone. We did pass the haulers for Edwards, Harvick, and Gordon as they were heading out towards the desert. I suspect they're on their way home to get clean underwear, fresh race cars, kiss the wife and kids, and head on to Martinsville in time for practice. I also think I saw Danica Patrick's hauler, but it was behind us when it pulled on the freeway, and we were moving a lot faster.

After we got through San Bernardino, we were able to move along at normal speeds, but that was only for the last 75 miles of the trip. I'm hammered.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

Big difference if you hit 5 numbers without hitting the bonus ball....MM pays $250K for it, Powerball pays $1M. I suspect I wouldn't complain if I won either....hell, I get excited when I win $7!

Here in California we don't have much of a choice. We don't have Powerball. It's just Mega or the old, state lottery (Super Lotto). Hmmm.... I can throw my dollar at a $356 million jackpot or a $6 million one. Either way the odds are astronomical and I don't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning. So, I might as well try for the $356 million one!

I read somewhere that California does something different with the lesser prizes....they pay based on sales within the state...so you might win more or less depending on play volume.
