An oval is an oval is an oval? :p:lol:

The tracks aren't all oval. They're all different shapes. And all have different characteristics. (Phoenix is a tri-oval)

Spend a few minutes to learn something about the sport and it will become much, much more interesting.

Michigan and Fontana are 2-mile ovals that offer nothing more than a fuel mileage contest.

Very, very little passing. YAWN...

I'd go to Sonoma. Beautiful location, (fairly) interesting track and the cars can be surprisingly nimble on a road course.

Which ones aren't an oval? I mean outside of the rare street course. Every picture I've seen of tracks are they are all similar in shape.

I know they all have their own characteristics, but they are still similar.

I think the thing I like least about nascar is the longevity of the races. But I do know more about Nascar than you think I do. I'm just incredibly sarcastic about things when I make fun of them (like when I was talking about Tucson the other day :p). I still don't find it interesting at all.

Slightly far away. I'd probably head to Sparta or Indianapolis. Both are about 6-7 hours drive from here. Would be a nice trip for a week off work.

Brickyard is a cool race.

Only issue is that, short of the Pagoda roof, you can't see the entire track from any ticketed seat.

There are ovals, tri-ovals, D-ovals, and quad-ovals. Obviously they have to be some sort of round shape. Have you seen the corners at Pocono? That track is a triangle.

Still ovals. :p

Just looked at Pocono, you're right that's a pretty crazy looking track.

I'd still rather watch a F1 or GT race on a road course. :p

I've always like the Brickyard races. One thing I really would not like about a road course is that you can't see the whole track. I like to see everything.

A road course is still a loop track.

I'll watch them, but I really don't enjoy them much.

 I saw your post, I meant to reply to it but got disctracted. I have an old Stumpjumper I need to get fixed up as well, it's really needs some TLC. Good work on the wrenching though, it's nice once you get everything dialed in. I did some adjustments on my bike last night as well, it's great to be able to do it yourself.
