I'm going to be there this weekend. Normally I'd say GOTG but it has to look horribly dead and boring right now. And I don't think there will be any dusting of snow on the red rocks there to give some interest.

So anyone know any other good places to shoot there this time of year? Please don't say seven falls lol ;)

I would think GOTG would still be nice even in the winter. The red rocks seem like they would be pretty anytime, especially around sunrise or sunset.

The Pikes Peak cog railway runs year round, that is something you might look into doing. I'm sure the mountains would be gorgeous with the snow.

I agree that Pikes Peak might be good, but I would drive up (if the road is open). Helen Hunt Falls is good, the AF Academy has good ops, especially the chapel. Manitou Springs might be fun. The Olympic Training Center is worth considering. Maybe a drive to Cripple Creek. I'm sure all the back roads are closed right now.

Yeah and I won't have my truck so I can't just go on any road. If I had the truck with me I'd head up rampart range behind GOTG and see what I can find.

Cool... I may have to head down there the next nice day when I have free time. I hate I-25 between Denver and the Springs though... hate, hate, hate. I can set my GPS to find an alternate route though. I can take 85 to Castle Rock, then wing it from there. ;)

From Castle Rock, take Hwy 86 to Hwy 83, and then take Co Rd 98 to Elbert and work your way over on Elbert Rd. to Calhan. It's fairly scenic and a great way to avoid I-25.
