This is actually my second shot with my new canon T3i. All comments are appreciated since I am new to Photography especially DSLR!

Nice. I like where you focused and I like the framing. The only thing I personaly find annoying is the dogs right eye isnt easily visible and pulls attention. The only way to fix that would be a different angle or better lighting (I suppose PS would work too). Up to you really.

He he, not a critique but the dog does seem to be looking at you with a "What on earth is he up to NOW" kind of look...

What do you have for a photo editor? Elements has a simple tool to brighten dark eyes. Two clicks brings the right eye detail up to the same level as the left.
