Thanks to one of our moderators... (TIM) I was made aware of a company that sells aftermarket 1800Mah batteries for the 20D for about 4x lower than the OEM Canon battery. Heck, that was sooo cheap, I got a pair. Now when I start shooting weddings, I'll have enough juice to bring for the day. And should I add the grip, I have the matching pair of 1800's. I'm obsessive compulsive like that. . The name of the company is www.sterlingtek.com (external link) two brand new 1800 batteries for less than $30.00 shipped. How can you beat that?

I bought 2 1800's from sterlingtek several months ago and am very pleased with the battery life. I will definitely buy from them again.

Have a look at "eurus-wings" on eBay -- 2 X 1800mAh @$10 cheaper... or could my math be wrong...? It would seem that most, if not all of the newer 1800mAh batteries are made in China with Japanese cells... There's one other seller offering 1900mAh ones but I forget who...

John;)

mmm sterlingtek as i have found is a reputable company. i dont knwo what company made yours. be aware batteries do explode and malfunction if there is no proof of a voltage regulator. doesnt matter where they are made

Glad I could help out John :) I shoot weddings with two 20Ds, I have 4 batteries right now (or so - can't remember) and I start to get a bit low on power, so i've ordered another 4 or so from the same place.
