I recently have gotten back into photography after a decent hiatus. Last time I shot was with a slr about 7 years ago. Needless to say the game has changed a lot. I am shooting with a 50d with a kit 18-55 right now. I also picked up a B+W polarizing filter too. Here are some pics I took today. All are directly off the camera with no editing. Any suggestions will help. Thanks in advance!

In #1 you have a strange dark area in the upper left. My guess is that it is due to your pola filter being on but the sun was not at a 90 deg angle.
#2 of the dead-centered berry would be more interesting with a macro lens and composed differently.
#3 with the sun in the frame is as you can see kind of flat and washed out.
Exposures & focus look good, but ...
I'd suggest going for some more interesting subjects next time out.
