Is the westcott apollo js 50x50 TOO BIGGGG?

Whats your take on the 50x50? I ordered one and i'm starting to have second thoughts about just how big this soft box is. Does anyone have any good things (Or bad) to say about it?

I have the 28" version and its a decent modifier. The zipper is junk quality. I hope the 50x50 uses better quality zippers especially with a 250 ticket price.

I'll have to say the only reason why I purchased it is because I can use my PW flex and remotely control the power settings either ETTL or manual. Opening up the front diffusion panel can get cumbersome if your changing power settings via buttons.

Nice size for quick portraits though.

I have the Apollo Orb - you can collapse it a little on the stand if its too big. It wouldn't be exactly square at that point though.

That's huge. I bet it throws some soft light.

Plus, when no one is around you can crawl in it and take a nap.

How tall are your ceilings?

We have the Larson 4'x6'. With 9' ceilings it is impossible to get proper Rembrandt lighting on a standing subject (either modifier orientation). That being said, with sitting/laying subjects or lighting other than Rembrandt, it's a beautiful modifier.

I'd say you shouldn't have any problems based simply on modifier size, then.

20 foot ceilings? Where's that damn sticking-your-tongue-out emoticon when you need it...
