Hi guys,

Looking for some advice please. I am wanting to purchase my first IPS monitor purely for photographic editing use. I would like a wide gamut monitor, and I don't want to spend silly money. So far for me the model that stands out is the Dell U2410.

Is this the monitor I should buy at this price point or do you have any other recommendations?

Thanks in advance :)

I'm considering the 2410 myself, which seems to fluctuate on the Dell site between $499 and $549. It's been out for a little while and has a large following as a pretty decent monitor for the price.

I like mine once I calibrated it. It came really bright according to both of the calibration softwares I have tried on it.

I was worried by some many reports of problems, but so far so good.

I thought 24 was going to be huge, but now I lust for another monitor even bigger.....

Also some have reported getting it for as litle as 399, but I paid 499 including shipping.

Be aware only color managed apps look good on it. e.g. not ms explorer....

Not sure about the 24" models so I went for the 2711, now I have enough space for PS menus, dialogues and my images ;) The 2711 is the same unit as the Apple Thunderbolt at half the price. (I did not buy from dell in Europe as they ask 900€, I got it for 500€).

Thanks for the replies :)

I carried on reading reviews and threads elsewhere and combined with your help have jumped in and ordered one from Dell with a discount voucher. Look forward to receiving it now...!
