I've worked with one female AC in the past year. The rest has been a sausage fest.

No Doubt!!!!

Got a call this morning about me possibly going to France this Summer to help NBC Universal cover the Tour de France!! :D  :D

If it works out, I'll be gone for 4 weeks and seeing most of France. I did this kind of work back in 2009 for the same company for the Giro d'Italia. That was so much fun and so much money!! A 4 weeks gig in France would give me so much video to edit later it would probably kill me! :p :D

Ha! I would love to have you along, but unfortunately, that's what the sound guy does on these kinds of gigs. A lot of sound on these isn't a huge part, so I end up acting as the camera assist for some things. Often I'll drag the tripod after the camera op to help him out while the audio gear stays in the car. But who knows, maybe they will be better prepared in France and there won't be as much running around like a chicken without it's head like there was in Italy. We'll see...

As this is a thread of derision and unhappiness..... Technical software, used by professionals, majors on either doing things quickly and effectively or with facilities and controls way above stuff you can get for free.
.

I agree one hundred percent. My intention was to point out that a good editor, Even on a less than ideal system, can produce good finished material. Yes Pro gear makes it so much easier.....Most of the Time. I have not only used most of the Pro systems to achieve wonderful results, I have also cursed them while pulling out my hair.

Some times I miss the good ole days of the BVW 75, and a vhs for approval.

First step........ Take the lens cap off.

WOW - I am glad I read this post before i asked any 'stupid' questions......:D

I am not and not likely to be a professional with any BS....

I just want to take video on this camera....my old 150VXi made it quite simple...

The manual for the T2i (550D) seems to give little information on video shooting, which is one of the prime reasons I bought my new camera..

Some of the videos I have found on Youtube give the impression that using video with , for example, my 90-300 1:4.5 - 5.6, auto focus is not very quick if effective at all.

I also have 50mm 1.8, 18-55mm 3.5-5.6, and 28-90mm 4- 5.6.

I bought the camera for a trip to the US in May and will mainly be using video for landscape/National Park shots...

So my question today would be: using the camera in good light in video mode does the auto focus work?

PS - editing is not a problem< i just want to shoot home video - no fancy photoshop or post production type techniques'
