Well as promised a few more photos from the final day of the RAC which mainly took part in the Kielder forest complex. It was an early start leaving the house at 4am to get into the forest for just after 5am, I had decided to view a stage mid way so drove into the forest approx 6 miles the only problem being apart from the dark ;) was that it was extremly foggy with visability down to about 20 feet and with a temperature of -6° which made the forest tracks interesting:lol: when I reached my chosen spot there was nobody else anywhere around and the fog was getting worse, as the cars started to pass through the stage I attempted to take some photos but the thick fog was seriously hampering this so I decided to put the camera down and watch a stage (which made a nice change)
At around 7am I moved to a different stage further down the valley where the freezing fog was clearing and it was getting light so here are the shots

Charlie Taylor still going strong

and this is the pristine MKII that Simon featured in his post, after the roll they managed to beat most of the dents out of it;)

and fans of classic rallying should be in for a treat at Christmas up at Croft as Hopefully Steve Perez will be there with his Lancia Stratos and providing he has no other commitments Malcolm Wilson could be driving Steve Perez's classic Audi Quattro:lol: (again;))

Cheers
Ian

Aha i've been waiting to see these, excellent stuff Ian :)

I was at Croft later in the day but due to the fog & rapidly failing light i didn't bother with the camera much and to be honest what shots i do have aren't much good

Mark Higgins was giving it full beans around Hawthorn...and waving out of the window at the same time and Stig was driving the only way he knows how... at 110%. Most enjoyable.

I followed that red Mk2 into the circuit so now i know where all the damage came from.

I don't envy you the trip up to Kielder Ian but, from the shots posted, it looked really worthwhile. Love the head on of Charlie Taylor's MkII Escort - hope it turned or you jumped!

You must be mad Ian!

Like the Total Escort shot. My wife works a short distance from Croft, so I was getting regular weather updates on Tuesday. In the end, decided it wasn't going to be good photography weather so reluctantly stayed away.

Cheers,

Simon.

Lovely. Ian, you make me almost eager to get back out onto a rally stage.. I say "almost" ;) I'll see how I feel by the time February comes around!
