NOT MY AD!!!

This might be worth calling about if you are in the Raleigh Durham area (UNC):

http://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/pho/2871664200.html (external link)

Posted on the Atlanta Criagslist (probably other cities in the SE as well). The payment options do raise some questions, but might be worth an email.

Good luck / be safe

This same ad is posted in several different cities. It is a scam...

As always, when something is selling for almost half of it's market value, it's too good to be true. This basic rule has not, and will never change.

It's gone. And they also like to flag legit ads. Every time I list something it gets flagged and removed.

I traded emails with the seller who offered the 70-200 IS, and the 100-400 IS for $1,400 as a package. The date codes were 2010 for both. There was also a body available (i think it was a T3i, but I didn't pay attention to that). Seller was located in Charlotte NC. Seller provided 10 photos of decent quality that were taken the same day the ad was posted.

Only payment that was acceptable to the seller was thru Serve.com (American Express), with the seller shipping the lenses to the buyer.

I offered to meet at the local police station or bank of his choice, but he passed.

I passed on the "opportunity".

Of course he passed, he's a scammer. Someone in Charlotte who was actually selling something would gladly meet to sell. I would have responded that if they only wanted to ship to put them on eBay.

He actually told me he's not in Charotte NC! I told him I have a friend there who could give him cash and pick up (I have no friend there of course) and he's quick to say he's not in Charlotte. I asked him where he's but he wouldn't say.

That was obviously a scam, he told me he was in UNC, i told him i'm gonna drive right now to pick them up in cash at a public place like a strarbuck or a bank. He only accept thru serve.com (american express) and i even told him to created a paypal account... his area code was 857 (MA)

When it's to good to be true, it's a scam these days.
