Hi all,

I'm having my 50-500 OS sent in for repair for a back focus issue, but something else I mentioned is that quite often if its not somewhere near focus it just sits there doing nothing until I manually adjust the focus so that its in the ballpark then AF kicks in fine.

Anyone else seen this as its annoying as hell and I've missed a fair few shots because of this.

You'll need to enable "Focus Search On" in the C. FnIII - assuming you are using the 1D3 for this.

Do you have the custom function for focus searching disabled, by any chance?

Thanks guys, I did have it set to disable, I seem to think that usually if I tapped the rear focus it would have another go, but never with this lens.

Thanks though, I've just swapped that and will try it again when its back from its service :)
