My three (3) year old 5DMII ceased functioning last week. I am a Gold member of CPS and called them (first time for repairs). Sent my camera body to NJ on Monday. Received confirmation at 1300 hours on Tuesday, that they received it. "It was found that the mirror had shorted causing error 20 to be displayed. Mirror was replaced. Product functions were confirmed. Adjusted exposure. Focus. Shutter Speed. Cleaned CMOS and clecked all to factory specs." Received email on Friday that it was fixed and shipped. Fedex delivered it on Saturday. On my way to test long lenses. Thanks CPS. You saved me a lot of money.

FYI. Total cost was less than $130, which included sales tax. A lot cheaper than if I had taken it to local camera store.

Anyone who qualifies for a CPS Gold membership is foolish not to spend the $100 - the benefits are clear enough - And they send a CPS camera strap, which people buy for around $50, so that makes the real cost a total of $50 ($100 less selling the strap) -

For pros, with more than one camera body and rely on their equipment, the $500 Platinum membership is an even better deal. Need a lens for a weekend? Let them know you want to try it out (compare the free trial to the cost of a rental) - So much more too -

Anyone who only qualifies for a free Silver membership is also missing the boat by not signing up - no more discounts on repairs (that's new), but just having 24/7 tech support and free shipping for any repairs (or cleaning and lube) makes it worth the effort - Also turn-around time on repairs is a LOT faster.

CPS in any of it's 3 forms is great for everyone - the level depends on your needs.

Getting two free "clean and lube" (postage paid) with the Gold membership for a cost (after selling the strap) for $50 a year can't be beat - they'll also check out the entire camera while they have it. And clean the exterior so it comes back looking as new as is reasonably possible.

Wow, what a nice picture! You must have a really great camera!
