The ad read something like...(i don't remember specifics)...

Bag of misc photo stuff - $80

old camera A
random flash
junk lens A
junk lens B
Canon 85mm 1.2
junk lens C
junk lens D

Worse yet...it wasn't a scam - the person emailed me back and the stuff had sold in < 2 hours.

Not sure if the 85mm was mki or mkii, but wow.

Could the 85 1.2 been an FD lens? That would have made the deal not quite as awesome (unless you could find a buyer for it that would pay what they are actually going for right now.)

Maybe - I asked in my email but by that time it had already sold.

You would have been the guy who called about my 5D right after I bought it, as well as the 30-something other people who saw an 800-dollar minty 5d with Canon grip on CL, back when they were regularly trading for 1200 and 1300 with a grip

If that was any of you on here I apologize :p

if it was an old camera - as in film - it would have probably been a manual lens

what "they are going for" is extremely inflated.

Probably so. That makes me feel not as bad about missing the deal then.

Even if it was a FD 85mm 1.2 there still worth a lot... Hell I would spend the $$$ to convert it to EF even if it cost a few hundred bux.. I never find deals like that! :)

even if it was an FD it's still worth like $600-$700
