good stuff. #3 gets deleted in camera, that's just me. In general they could be cropped a little tighter.

Yeah, I could see that thanks. Glad to see I improved from my softball set last time. Thanks!

Nice set. I like the B&Ws. I would say crop tighter on most of these. There seems to be a bit too much dead space.

Agree about tighter crops, your best shot is #3, you dont really have any peak action or moments besides that. The pitcher is a nice stock shot. Work on your anticipation, figure out where hitters tend to send the ball and go ahead and focus on the fielder and try to get a nice fielding shot.

Thanks, not sure about not having any peak action considering the slides, throws, and 5 where he's chasing him down. But I'll definitely try to get some fielder shots

Meant 4 (the slide), not 3. Of your two shots of the throw only one has the ball and neither has a good face. If you were more focused on the runner in the chase down it would be good but the shot i dominated by the third baseman's butt. The pitch is a clean shot but it's a photo that you Von make during any pitchof any game so there's nothing unique about it. The slide in 1 would be good but it's too loose and the runner is OOF.

You obviously have a good eye for the sport, looking forward to next game's take.

Looks like your improving. I agree with most of the posts above. I would increase the shutter speed slightly to reduce the blur. I'm guessing your shooting wide open already, if not I suggest lowering the f-stop. Try to get at an angle to the subject that reduces the background clutter.

By the way I am also new to shooting baseball, learned a lot last year, can't wait to start again this year.

Yeah, my shutter speed was 800-1000 for the batters and pitcher but like 400-500 ish because the sun was behind them and my ISO was ~200. I was some what wary of increasing the ISO especially since the Pirate jerseys are black. And yup I'm shooting at 4 for the f stop using an F4/L. As far as background clutter, I'm guessing the main one is the pitcher b/c I was thinking the same? I definitely agree with that but the photographers are only allowed in a very small area and I'm nearly positive that it's the only place I can go on that side (Which is in the entrance to the dugout where all the other photogs are). Thanks for the feedback I'll keep it in mind.

What body are you using? Don't be afraid to jack the ISO up because a properly exposed photo is going to be better noise wise than if you left the ISO lower and underexposed it.
