. . . and the cover photo is once again . . . SURPRISE---a photo of Yosemite! Do they have a rule over there that every other issue has to be a photo of Yosemite? C'mon, give us a break! The photo isn't even cover worthy.

A reliable source has informed me that the next cover will be shot somewhere in Sedona... ;)

LOL---I tried taking a picture in Sedona once. It took me two days to clone out all the crystal shops and tourists, and even then all the energy from the vortex's overexposed my frame!:D (I b*tch a lot, don't I?)

Outdoor Photographer has become like all the other photography magazines; repetitious and dull. The only reason I haven't let my subscription lapse is because somehow I got paid up through August of next year. Once that date passes, I'm not renewing...

Even though it's repetitive, I still enjoy it. It ups my motivation level and always provides good eye candy.

Zero relevance.
It's fractionally better than Pop Photo, I suppose. (OTOH, given the target audience, it's even more of a disappointment.) I'll often pick it up in the store and look at it for three minutes before muttering something about all the adds and useless gear reviews. Their 'photography' tutorials aren't any better. This month's 'zone system' article is typical in that it's been dumbed-down to the point of uselessness.

Agreed, it's tiring to see the same places make the cover. There's a lot of beautiful landscape out there, that doesn't happen to be inside of a National Park.

I suspect that the covers are chosen for "news stand" appeal. Same reason the car mags have babes on the covers. It's for the impulse buyers. Subscribers don't buy for the cover art.
