Nissin di622 flash?

I just recently got back into photography after a two year stint, ie money issues ha ha, but I recently bought some gear and in it I got this nissin di622 flash.

Now I was going to buy back my old 540EZ last night but upon trying it out it just wasn't as good as I remembered and didn't work as well with the 500d. So I tried out the nissin and couldn't get over the simplicity of it.

Has anyone else used one? Or tried the mark 2 and it's method of hooking them up to other mk2 di622's?

My brother-in-law has the mk1, seemed good enough for regular on-camera use, but I have the mk2 version myself and would recommend that because of the added slave options, wireless and sync ports.

i've used di622 II. what exactly is your question/problem?

Just wondering how ppl rate them is all? Thinking about getting a few mk2 for the slave and wireless features, just found the mk1 so easy to use

mk ii is also easy to use. it has limitations as TTL slave since it always belongs to Group A Channel 1. it, however, is pretty good as an optical slave because it can ignore pre-flashes. overall, it is a solid flash IMHO.

Seems that the canon is a little bit too over complicated tho with all it's settings

i have to say i do like the simplicity of the nissin, i had a 540ez flash and found it just too complicated with all its different settings, what triggers work for the nissin?

Nissin is, indeed, easier to use.

I tried di622 with PW FlexTT5 and it worked flawlessly. I was able to achieve slightly higher sync speed with the Flex: 1/320 vs. the specified 1/250
