I wasn't going to originally post this pic as there is so much technically wrong with it, but I think the overall "cuteness" of the pic compensates for some of the technical flaws.....I had my back turned to the scene and the camera hanging by my side when I heard a couple of people behind me say, " Ahh, isn't that cute"......I literally just had time to point and shoot one pic before the mother Giraffe lifted her head back up.

7d, 100-400L lens at 400mm, f5.6, iso 100 & 1/160 shutter speed.

So, I've moved to Singapore. Heat and humidity aside, I finally managed to go out and snap a few pictures today. Here's one that sucked the least (and there was lots of suckage since I've not been using the camera in a while):

Canalero, I really like the lines and expressions. Nice shots.

Is that Richard Simmons in the second one with the white and lime green tank top?!

At 11PM last night I headed up to Brasstown Bald in North Georgia, it is the highest point in the state. I went to try to shoot the Perseid Meteor Shower. The quantity of visible meteors was much less than advertised, but I managed to catch a couple. I spent more time learning to shoot stars with the 7D, and was very happy with the high ISO capability.

#1: The only one with an actual visible meteor, shot at ISO 6400.

#2: The Milky Way, it was really visible to the naked eye, it was very cool early in the evening.

#3: Part of the observatory.

Magnus - I've been following this Alice Cooper series from you but the last one above is the best IMO. Fantastic shot. I wish the whole of the guitar was in the frame...

Thank you very much nikmar :) i'm glad you like my Alice Cooper pics. Just like you i also wish i had the whole guitar in the last shot but it just was not possible to get it. This is the best i could do from my location in the middle of the 22,000 people in the audience that night.

Btw, i added a few Cooper pics in the 5D2 thread. Have a look there for some more. :)
