I just picked up a 50mm F/1.8 MKI for a whopping $20. I have no idea why they ever walked away from this design for the 50 1.8, it slaughters the mkII and may focus faster than my f/1.4

Great find, congratulations!

I missed an 85mm 1.2 yesterday for $80 by an hour. Don't know if it was FD mount or EF, mk I or mk II, or working. But man.

Sounds like unreasonably low prices, have to wonder why.....

Yeah - I know what you mean but it didn't really fit the profile of stolen goods. The 85mm ad was supposedly by someone who had a deceased family member and had put all their photo stuff in a bag and was selling the lot - the rest of the stuff was older lenses and older camera. They emailed me back about it to politely let me know it had sold from a non-spam looking email address, so I doubt it was stolen, but who knows.

Just keeping telling yourself that it was very likely stolen. That might make it hurt less... missing out on it. ;)

All I ever see on the CL in my area is people trying to sell Rebel bodies and kit lenses for about twice what they're worth. Looking through earlier today, saw a used 18-55 listed for $150, when you can buy them brand new for cheaper than that.

We got a 50/50 of great prices or terrible Rebel double price BS.

$20 for a mk1 50mm is insane. What's the reason it was so cheap for?
