All I ever see on the CL in my area is people trying to sell Rebel bodies and kit lenses for about twice what they're worth. Looking through earlier today, saw a used 18-55 listed for $150, when you can buy them brand new for cheaper than that.

When I lived in Colorado (Boulder area), this was very common there as well...

Probably isn't the best deal compare to the rest of everybody, but here's the deal I got recently off CL.

Canon 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5

Brand new - $816 without saving from BH

POTN - $600-$650 depending on the condition

CL - $450 used for 6 months and looks brand new with everything including box, CD, reciept and warranty card.

I always seem to miss the good craigslist deals. There was an 85L II up for sale for 1400 because it had a nick in the barrel - I missed it!

Aha. Yes, the crack is pretty clearly visible. If it's like the screen cover on the T2i, it's a pretty minor repair, though.

I regularly check Camera section on CL for my home area and the deals are ALWAYS rip off low end crap. I think I would find much fairer deals buying and selling on this forum.

Speaking of which:

Canon EF 70-200 2.8 IS - $500

From the sound of it, it may be beaten but for $500 still sounds like a great deal.

Last year I answered an ad for some cheap microphones and audio crap and while I was at the old guys house as he packed to move out of state he asked if I had any interest in Photo gear?

I gave him $50.00 for a nice case full of old Olympus gear in cut foam compartments.
I got home and inventoried it and amongst the junk were 2 Olympus Shift Lens!
Each one a work of Art really and evidently also valuable.
Cha-Ching! Timing is everything.

That is my best I think so far.

I just bought an AE-1 with a flash, 50FD and an old off brand zoom for $5 from salvation army. I have no idea why, it just looked lonely sitting there.

Lets see what I see on CL.

1. 1Dmark IV (or name the body and lens) for 800. Spam bot collecting live email address.
2. Rebel kits that cost 2x as a new one does.
3. 20D for a 1000 dollars
4. If you put a piece of photography equipment for sale at the going rate in about 10 mins you will get threeemails. First email is somebody out of the country that needs it shipped. The 2nd person wants to trade you something worthless when you have NO trades in your add. 3rd, email will be somebody really interested asks bout 10 questions then you will never hear from them again.

Maybe I"m jaded, but so far thats been most 90% my experiences with CL.
