Are pretty rare around here. Not the best shots but I was happy to see them

As you say, not the best shots, you did well in what looks like not the best conditions, & they make very good record shots ;)

Yes the sky sucked yesterday, was bright but overcast. Wish they would have stayed below the tree line more than they did. They never did land just circled the swamp a few times before booking out.

I'd be happy with any shot of a pintail, I'd love to just see one in person. Nice shots, even tho the sky didn't co-operate.

We can't be too picky when capturing "first timers" can we j!
You did very well under the circumstances. Even I could tell they were Pintails and I'm no waterfowl expert at all. And it looks like they at least gave you a pretty good variety of angles too.
Now that you know they're there you have incentive to return and improve you captures. We'll be waiting for those images and share your excitement when that happens!

Thanks CamFan this is a swamp close to a mall so it gets good traffic of ducks. The problem is no way to get real close to them. I check it at least twice a week so see whats flying, problem is the best day for ducks to be there are the worst days for light since they like these overcast rainy days. But I will keep trying!
