55mm 1.2 FL mount lens - options?

I happened on one of these on Craigslist for cheap and see that they are nice lenses, just a pain to mount to newer bodies. For those with more experience, what options (adapters, DIY job?) are out there and how expensive are those options?

Are there any other options less than the $150 range? Or is this about the best option there is?

It is possible to do it yourself. The FL 55mm is one of the easiest to do. You would just remove the breech mount on the rear and then drill some holes in a M42 to EOS adapter, add a spacer, and screw it all together. The hard part is getting the spacer the right thickness(about 1/16") so you maintain infinity focus.

The Ed Mika kit does it all for you and I think it is a bargain at $75. https://edmika.com/product/fl-55mm-1-2/ (external link)

Wow - I would really screw that up. Maybe the Ed Mika adapter is the way to go.

msowsun - any idea as to what to use for a spacer? I may give the DIY a try if I get the lens, and if I fail, then order Ed Mika's kit.

I have never tried it, but I have read where one guy used a rear lens cap and cut the flat part off. Other people just use plastic and cut it to the right shape.

Snyderemark - I'm actually in NC. Turns out the seller doesn't want to part out the pile that includes the 55mm. Dang. Hope he changes his mind. The rest of the pile is junk.

BTW - what is a normal price to expect for one of these lenses?

I usually see them sell for about $200-250.

$125 is still cheap for an FL 55mm 1.2 Buy the whole lot, keep the lens, and give the rest away. (or sell it)
