Nissin triggers?

Whats the best trigger to use with a nissin di622 mk2 speedlite with a canon 500d?

Are you worried about retaining ettl function?

Not overly but having it would help? Im hearing there's really only two types that accommodate ettl, would I be right?

I'm not up on the very latest, but yes thats pretty much it. The pocket wizard controlTL system, and the pixel kings/knights Phottix also has a system but I dont know anything about it. Before you spend a lot on it, what do you want to do with off camera flash. For many, if not most applications, manual is a better option.

I like shadow shots and going to get back into gig photography but I'm just lookin up options at the moment first, when u say manual u mean just the flash on the camera yea?

No, I mean the flash on a stand remotely, but without ettl. Your flash puts out whatever amount of light you want on a consistent basis. I have no idea what you mean by shadow shots.

No, its flash. You push your trigger and the flash on a stand, or wherever, fires. It just doesnt auto calculate the flash power. It takes a little prep, but its a lot more consistent.

Ok cool, used to have an off shoe camera cord but found the length limited so wireless would obviously be better. Been lookin online at the ones u mentioned, can't see any that say there are nissin compatible. Would a canon trigger system by these brands work with the nissin seein as its made for canon?

Yes, the flash is emulating canon so you would need the canon version.

I know it all sounds stupid but just have to double check cuz knowing my luck it would be the one time I'd get it wrong ha ha, cheers for the info mate

Yes, as long as it works in the hotshoe, it will work on the cord. All those cords do is allow you to extend the hotshoe to a more usable location.

So it's a nissin di622 mk1 that I have at the mo and its for canon and I use
It on a 500d so by that right the oc-e3 shud work
