Hi all, I made some changes to my site and wanted to ask for your input.

It's mainly a hobby site/photo album. I want it to quickly show some of my best shots and be easy for someone to get to the galleries- from the home page.

Does the color scheme & layout work? Should I be more aggressive about deleting photos that aren't quite as good as others? Should I group certain types of photos into generic categories like sports, automotive, portrait ect... Is It interesting enough to want to browse through some galleries? Just a few things I need someone else's perspective on- my family and friends thinks ALL of my shots are great, I hardly ask anymore lol.

Overall I really like your site. It navigates fast and easy and I'm inclined to view more photos because they upload so quick. You have a nice variety and some great shots! Only criticism (and it's small) is the "TomCros§hots | images by Tom Cross" at the top is almost invisible with the black font on dark grey background. But really, your's is a site to be proud of!

I know the feeling about the whole family and friends thing...they all think I'm Bresson Jr...anyway...

I like ease of navigation and simplicity, and your site definitely offers both. I'm not a fan of Flash, but if you're going to use it, you're using it the best way possible, which is to say that if I don't have flash, it doesn't detract from the function of the site.

I agree with ktc1 in that your site title at the top is hard to see. Perhaps a different font color would help, but I might consider converting it to an image so that you could use the font of your choice to style it up a bit, without worrying about it being degraded in a browser that doesn't have that font.

I was a little confused about the names of the galleries, particularly the "Below 50 miles" and "Beyond 50 miles". It makes a little more sense once you get into the gallery and see the context offered by the category they are in, but I would consider a little reorganization to make things a bit more clear-cut.

Minor quibbles aside, I really like the approach you are taking. You have some fine work in there, and it's all easily accessible and nicely presented. Keep up the great work!

Nice work! I would separate the different type of shots. Whats your most favorite, highest earning type of work? Put your best of those only. Maybe make another link for the sports shots, and the wildlife... Good luck...

Change the color of your text at the top of your site from dark grey to white or very, very, light grey. It's difficult to read as it is now colored.

Thank you everyone for taking the time to explain suggestions. I'll change the text at the top.

Nice site. Two things:

1. Your title is black on grey which makes it hard to read. Also as a title it should be bigger/bolder (*opps looks like others already pointed this out haha)
2. Flash is great, but html/javascript can do the same without using lots of power/load time.

I like the ease of browsing the galleries though!
