I have opportunity to buy a canon 600mm FD lens the seller said it will focus to infinity with a FD to EOS adapter with glass to correct for proper focus.

Anyone have experience with these type adapters????
How well do they work.

Is he selling the adapter with the lens? Is it a Canon brand adapter?

I bought an adapter off of e-Bay a couple of years ago and it was either the wrong one to buy, or these things do not work at all. (Mine has glass in it, it does not work without the glass either)
I am still under the impression that there are some out there that work, I see posts about people's lenses, so that makes me think they are happy with them, I'm not, not at all. Mine makes everything on my Canon FD 50mm (I don't own a 600mm) all soft focus, it's pretty, but I can do that in Photoshop and still have a good image if I need to.
I have tried it on a 70-205 Vivitar (for Canon) lens and it's pretty nice up close, but any farther than 5-6 feet and it's a soft too.

So, for me, I'd say no, but I'd be really interested in what others say too, because I have been meaning to ask the question about whether anyone makes a good one.

I just remembered, I saw a guy yesterday on YouTube that makes a special adapter that is made from brass, he makes them for the long FD lenses, I will try to look that up real quick, supposedly this guy's stuff is pretty good...

Here's the guy and one of the adapters for the 400mm, but he has a list somewhere that mentions what lens adapter he will make next, and I think that the 500mm is next on the list, or, is on the list...
He may have it to where the adapter works on more than one lens, say the 400mm and the 600mm, who knows...?

The guy doesn't have a good links to follow, so to find his site, it's not easy, but he seems to have it together on the lens stuff a little better, I hope. :)

Yessir, that would be him.
Odd though, I looked through a lot of his information and he hasn't updated hardly anything lately, I overlooked that though.
Thanks for finding that for me. heheh

He has a Bower adapter and claims it works but you got to wonder how well it works.
