I was going thru editing a few pics from a recent session and noticed a few images came out like the one below. Anyone know why this would be happening?

Could be your memory card when was the last time you re formatted it. Do you have others cards and has this happened on them or just this one?

This is the only time I remember seeing this. I formatted I think before the session

How often are you suppose to format, and is it better to format on the camera than the computer?

Format in the camera and do a low level format. It does look like image corruption, I would try a different card and see if the issue persists.

If you have other cards then put one in, take a whole bunch of shots, and if the problem doesn't repeat itself, well...

But if it does repeat itself, you will be in for some troubleshooting. You don't say how you download the images. Suspects would be a USB cable if you are plugging the camera in, or if using a card reader, it could alternatively be the reader. If subbing in new cables/readers, then it's up to either the camera or your computer. Let's hope it's the card!

Try downloading them again. Any chance you are using a computer running Windows Vista?

The first thing I would do is try to re-download the card. If the images are still corrupt I would try a different card reader. If it still does not work I would replace the card.
