putting jpgs on disk for client to print?

This sounds really dumb, but I have a colleague in another community who wants to give one of my photos as a gift, and needs it in the next few days. My website prints from the states, so takes too long. I don't have any prints of this particular photo. If I copy the file to disk, can she take the disk to Costco or somewhere and get it printed off the disk?

Yes. If it looks professional you'll need to provide a release so they'll actually print it.

Don't bother providing the file on disk, simply copy a full resolution version of the file to Costco (not the lesser resolution option on Costco's upload menu), specify that you wish to 'share' the file to your friend, and they can get it printed at their local store.
