clik obscura - just ordered it - should I cancel?

Is there anyone using any clik gear....especially the obscura bag? I just got it and am not sure if it is the best thing. I don't go hiking but we do go out a lot with the kids and would like to have something I can comfortably take with me all the time.

I have 7D, 24-70 and soon to come sigma 50 1.4 and 580ii flash and sony cx12 camcorder.

wow.. that bag looks pretty big. but i guess you could also put kids stuff in the bag too. i have kids too and opted for the KATA 25PL. it looks smaller than this one i think.

Your 7D will not fit in that bag. I ordered one, and had to return it because the 7D is too big to get in and out of the zippered side access door. Pity, as it was an awesome bag--I did however get the Contrejour instead, and although it is larger, I love it when I pack heavy. For smaller gear setups, I have the Probody Sport, and it will fit my 7D with 70-200 mounted along with another lens and flash in the cam compartment. I really like the quality and fit of Clik bags.

oh shucks !!!!....why would the company be so dumb and have such a poor design!!!!! This is absolutely dumb......

i saw a review on vimeo which showed an owner put in 5d with some difficulty.....so I figured 7D might a a little tight fit but would not be an issue.....

What Clik-elite bag in the same range would you recommend?

Well, you can shoehorn the 7D into the bag, but it is not really practical to get in and out in under a minute...I do like the Probody sport. It's a smaller bag, but you should be able to fit your gear in it without any problem. It really comes down to how much pack and gear you want to haul around.

If you go to the Clik website, they have a pretty good chart of what will fit in what bags, but if all else fails, just give them a call. They are a small company in Utah, and whoever answers the phone will be able to steer you in the right direction. After I got the Obscura, I was pissed that it wouldn't work for my 7D, so I called the company to voice my opinions, and Joe was very helpful in getting me into the Contrejour. He even gave me a price break and got it to ship out that day, as I was leaving for a skiing trip at the end of the week.

So I agree you were right. Just got the bag and it will not fit 7d no matter how much hard I try and 7d it's not a cheap camera so I can just shove it in there. It's a shame because it's a fantastic bag. I can't believe that idiot who designed this bag still works there. I'm a nice guy but I'm just so pissed off at him for such an oversight in designing this bag.

I had the same feelings opon receiving my Obscura too. Clik said that they designed that particular bag with the rebels in mind...Whatever, but IMO it would have been better to make the door larger so that one could fit a D series in the bag. Anyway, I recommend that you call the company and chat with someone to voice your opinions. They were very nice to deal with, and I think they make some of the best bags around. Good luck.

This time - carefully and slowly just literally attempted to drop the camera in the bag - and it slides in with very little effort if angled the right way. Its really weird, I guess I was trying too hard the first time around.

Now I decided to keep it and if anyone has any questions or is contemplating a purchase - shoot me a PM and I will be more than happy to make a video and send it to you so that you can judge for yourself.

In case I did not make myself clear - I really really really love the bag. It is fantastic for what it does. And for that - i have learned to make my camera fit with almost no effort. I had a good deal on the bag and I did not want to let go. Besides, the design makes this bag so comfortable to haul around my equipment I can't really return it.

I hope you still like the bag, cuz I just ordered it from amazon.ca for my 7D. Very good deal at $78. Who says things are always cheaper in the USA? Can you send me a video in case I have difficulty figuring out the best way to fit the 7D in?

I have the clik compact sport and I like the fact that the camera is tight for when I jog or bike with it then there is a little more assurance that it's not just bouncing around. Just my $0.02

Yea... and I was thinking since I am taking it on trips in 2nd/3rd world countries, it's actually a good thing it doesn't come out that easily. I found this video on fitting a 5D in the bag:

Just got my backpack. It works very well with my 7D and a 24-105L lens, IMO.
