Recently my 16-35 II has been having issues producing sharp images when it focuses near infinity. The issue occurs at any focal length and any wider aperture. Its almost as if the lens isn't trying to focus at all. I can't even find a sharp part of the photo to check for front or back focus

I sent the lens into CPS with a free Clean & Check voucher and they repaired the lens as a courtesy (meaning no warranty). CPS noted in my invoice: "Your product has been examined and it was found that the adjustment of the lens assembly was incorrect causing the focus to operate improperly. Electrical adjustments were carried out on the lens assembly. Product functions were confirmed."

Has anyone else experienced this issue with the 16-35 or any other lens? I'll have to call CPS tomorrow and see what they can do for me. Its annoying that I wasted a voucher only to have to send the lens back for a second adjustment.

Near 100% crop below. 16mm, ISO 100, f/3.2, 1/250 sec.

Generally repairs are warrantied for a period of time (60 or 90 days I think). If they performed work and it didn't fix the problem, see if they'll do the next round for free.

Yeah, that's what I'm going to do. Either that or send me a replacement voucher for future use.

Wow that doesn't look too good.

I have a 16-35L II (I've also played with my buddy's 16-35L II) and both are extremely sharp.

Yeah, I've had this lens for about a year and a half, and it used to be stupid sharp. I don't what happened but it's like this on both of my bodies.
