Samples are relevant, regardless of the lens used. Just check the 300 2.8 IS sample images--doesn't have to be from the 1d3 specifically. Shots are going to look fairly identical, pretty much regardless of the body used.

nice. i like the edit version. really nice colors on the pool. blend the images together and using the sky of the original on the edit version so you wont have a blown out sky.
