Tegra 4 is predicted (by Nvidia) to be 10x Tegra 2 performance (or roughly 4-5x Tegra 3 performance, depending on the "flavor" of the Tegra 3 and the Tegra 4).

Nvidia is skeptical.

Well, you'd wonder if you had if you hit the Amish communities for sure? ;-)a

Hubby wants to move but I love my magical little place so much. We have this little creek we have to drive over with a bridge and you can't see our house from the road. Lots of trees between us and anyone else. Our pond leaks - we need to get some gypsum and put down for how porous the soil is making it, but except for that one flaw... we have berry bushes, fruit trees, etc., etc... All of these things established here. It will take years to start them all over again somewhere else. :(

I really, really love it here! (can you tell yet?)

I'm looking hard again at satellite internet again to be honest. The costs will be about the same and they advertise higher speeds (though I'm sure they're exaggerating). I think part of our problem is they're running us through a digital multiplexer and piggybacking a whole bunch of DSL over two copper pairs. So at night when everyone hits the internet it's too much for it to run fast and we slow down to just barely faster than dial-up!

SAT internet is pricey and they have sub 1GB monthly data caps!

A quote from that:

Will Apple provide those benchmarks? Doubtful. However, Nvidia plans to get a new iPad when they go on sale March 16 and do some comparisons tablet to tablet. “At some point it will become more clear what the performance really is,” said Brown. “For now, Apple has a really generic statement.”

Suckers! They played right into Apple's hand. Now Apple will create a commercial stating that their products are so good that Nvidia uses their iPad despite the fact that it has no Nvidia hardware in it!!:twisted:

In a news conference, Apple will explain that is has exactly 4.19x the performance, but that they rounded down...BOOYAH!! BUSTED!!!

There's no hope? :(

I was looking at HughesNet - could swear I didn't see monthly data caps once you got around $80-90. If we nixed the land line (of course I was the one who insisted on keeping a landline for emergencies because if you have a real plug-in phone landlines still work when you have no power). It's just a lovely thing. Thank goodness I grew up this way and am not terribly attached to high-speed data... (I think)

I am feeling so sorry for the Football at this point. I'm waiting for her sides to split open if she doesn't give birth soon. :(

Well, she was named Duchess. Until she got so football-shaped. We panicked when we couldn't find her yesterday - we were afraid she had her kittens somewhere where we wouldn't find her. When we found her further inflated we ended up moving her inside for now. I'm waiting to see hubby refuse to part with any of the kittens. He always blames me for the animals and the way they're spoiled, but he's responsible for every animal added to our group since we got together!

Not really - it sounds like our family will end up using it up wayyyy too quickly. Sheesh. There's no hope for us. :(

We should move into the city (ha! not happening) so we can watch all the streaming internet we want, I guess.

I wish we had access to some kind of cable-based internet. We only have the company's DSL and the last time I checked we weren't even getting 720KBps out of it. :(

You can always go satellite. We use HughesNet, and it works reasonably well.
