I've got a 5-series monopod, 6 sections, and the top two are a bit tight to pull in-out. The other 3 move as smooth as butter.

Omar, the sound of a rubber glove snapping on still sends chills down my spine He is hubby's uncle's bull. I think it might be getting sold to hubby's youngest son since hubby's uncle has decided it might be time to retire (he's in his eighties). Hubby assured me I could have walked up to him and gotten closer pictures, but between him not knowing me and seeing all the flies, I decided it wasn't worth the risk. You aren't from the hills of Kentucky are you? Nope - hubby's family are century farmers in Missouri, though, meaning that the land that is currently being farmed by them has been farmed by that family for at least 100 years. I'm actually a transplant from back east (the coal-mining hills of Pennsylvania). Getting things like breeding stock and farming equipment from retiring family members is great, though - usually they give you a more than fair enough price and they don't have to deal with the hassle of finding someone else to buy it, whether or not the payment will be good, etc. It's a way for the generations to help each other.
