What I mean to say is, you see a lot of them for sale because there are simply a lot of them in the world. If it were possible to view the numbers of lenses for sale as a percentage of the lenses owned by forum members, this lens wouldn't be all that high. -- Ken

Mar 01, 2012 19:57 | #11 I nearly sold mine because I wasn't using it for a while. Luckily I decided to take it out for a final spin and it's been glued to camera for the last three months. It's a fantastic lens, especially for the money, and as someone else said, it's been around for a long time and a lot of people own it, thus so many on sale. Ex-Canon shooter. Now Sony Nex.

For me it just fell in the "eh" zone between 50mm and 135mm. I might revisit the lens when my 5d gets here. I think its a much better value than the L version. I think a lot of people get L envy and sell off all non-L lenses, which is stupid. It could also be that with a vast majority of people shooting on a 1.6x sensor after seeing the 85mm on a full frame they think they want it then they realize its more like a 135mm which is a little tight for most people.
