Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I drove past these apples yesterday and they had some late afternoon sun on them that just made them jump out of the landscape.

RebelXT | 24-70mm L @ 35mm, HOYA Circular Polarizer | ISO 200 | Av mode

A little unsharp mask, Noise Nija, and manual levels adjustment in Photoshop CS2.

Did I do them justice?

Welcome to the forum Carl. Two very nice captures. My favorite is the first one. I like the depth of field studded with red apples against the 'dead' background and the hint of snow.

Thanks Dennis. I'm trying to get past that threshold between "just a photo" and something nicer. At this point I feel like my eyes see better than my camera does. That is to say that I don't think my photos look as nice as the scene I remember. I understand composition, I'm a graphic designer/art director by trade, but I'm still working at finding the sweet spot in photography. Thanks again. Carl

Very nice work, especially #2. It looks more than"just a photo" to me!

Thanks Mark. I looked back at some of your posts. It's a nice compliment coming from you.

I'm sitting here now watching the snow come down and two bluejays and mourning doves eating at the feeder trying to decide if I want to go out and take some shots. Do I risk using up my battery before we get together for dinner today? Decisions, decisions. :-)
