The MFT charts are close to the 70-200 2.8 MKII. It should impress! Im looking to pair it up with the 5dmkIII.

no question the 24-70 II will be a nice sharp lens but why no IS

If it's that sharp, I don't know why Canon don't try making it an F2 lens that's just a bit softer at F2?
I imagine people would gladly pay a handsome price for such a lens...

lol the nex 5/7 is trashed daily by leica guys(using leica glass) for being soft and with strong aa filters. B

not to say the Sony NEX image quality is even comparable to current DSLR standards and with the lens is not even that small, like what's the point?

Nex 7 looks on par with the M9 for sharpness imo, but at a minimum it runs circles around the 7D for image detail...

All the evidence to date, points to strong AA filter, hence all the 7D esqué comments regards to the IQ. Maybe it'l surprise me and be tack sharp, but I wouldn't place a bet on it personally...

As for why, there was no reason for the 7D to have a stronger AA filter over the 550D was there?
Also some vid guys have been complaining about moire in video, so that is the 'why'. There has been mention of software reduction, but the best way to deal with moire is the AA filter...

So, what exactly do you shoot that would make you want a camera without an AA filter or a very weak AA filter? It seems, based on the images on your blog, that you are a big fan of local contrast, which is basically a rough type of sharpening. In fact, the D700 is probably perfect for what you do.

I'm guessing you haven't looked closely at the IQ coming out of the little NEX bodies.....and you disagree with DPREVIEW's conclusion of the NEX-7 IQ, which is...

"It's no stretch to say that, at its best, the NEX-7 offers the finest still image quality of any APS-C camera, bar none."

Am I the only one that thinks this thread has tanked? It really is getting too much like DPReview.

Throw in IS and now we are making it even more interesting Just make sure to hit the gym as we might have to call it the truck container

It dose 60fps like the 7d..... that was the main thing i needed that the 5d2 was missing and the 7d had.....

I almost purchased the 7d to go alongside my 5d2 because I need the 60fps.... now the 5d3 will give my the 24fps and 60fps.....

It is true! The nex7 produces great images for APS-C but the nex5 has better high iso. I just wish the nex7 wouldn't vignette with leica m wide angle glass. Which is why leica guys buy the nex5n instead.
