I don't like what I see from Bob's site review, taken with the 50L at ISO 3200 at f7.1. Near the bottom...

But then again, I await the invariable 5D2 vs 5D3 side by side, same lens, same exposure reviews that will be happening soon enough.

Anyways I'm looking forward color the first bath of them to come out. Will be interesting to see what happened when we get them in our hands and can compare them. I really wish someone could produce some SOOC RAW images WITH NO PP. Im excited to use the new autofocus system but wish unused a 5d2 to compare it to.

Nothing to do with that Julian. I am not buying the 5D3. I am still going ahead with my 1DX order. That does not mean I am not interested in upgrading my 5D2 at some point so I am interested in trying to read about this camera. I am just getting sick of reading the drivel from someone who does not even shoot Canon. It is trolling and nothing else.
The Mod has already warned about it yet he has carried on.........

I understand. While he may expressed his points it is a policy of this forum to respect each other. Bashing, trolling, etc. are all included. :) Also, everyone here who has replied to his posts are just as guilty. ;)

After looking through these unprocessed JPGs, and having shot at ISO 6400 and 12800 extensively with the 1D4 (and 5D2), it maybe looks just a tad better than the 1D4, but not by much.

The 7D can't even get close to the level of detail to other crop camera's that don't have (or have weak) AA filters... FACT

Well, then the 5D2 can't get any closer. Here's the proof: http://www.luminous-landscape.com/forum/index.php?topic=62846.0 (external link)

The 7D's "problem" isn't the AA filter, it's the insistence on testing its capabilities with anything less than the best glass. Put ultra-sharp glass on it and it will perform. The sensor is just very demanding of the glass that's available, but lens manufacturers are rising to the challenge and producing glass that is capable of producing very sharp, detailed images on the 7D.

Why is it that technology behind good ISO performance is taking such small and insignificant baby steps with each new camera? It has been nearly five years since the 5D2 came out, and now that the 5D3 is finally here, it's ISO samples are quite underwhelming..

This isn't the best glass, it is the Sigma 50mm, but here is one I just took with my 7D in natural light. Zero post processing on the resulting DPP JPG, just framed and uploaded. Not the sharpest image I have taken, but it works for me. You can almost make out the pond and clouds in her eyes.

Glass plays the largest factor with the 7D over everything else, IMO.

This shouldn't be the case with the 5D3 though, since they barely upped the resolution. Again, I can't wait for the first POTN member to get their hands on it and try it out. It was Simon for the 7D, so who is it going to be this time around? :)

I thought that too, but I would hope Bob would have thought about that as he snipped out a section of his image. The eyes and behind seem to be in focus, where the eyebrows are not. But nothing in that section looks really great.
