Bingo. We're looking at jpegs that have been processed in the camera. Who shoots that way now-a-days? I have always shot RAW and always will.

When it's a 5D MIII vs. D800 conversation, your comments completely apply. But it really gets stale when you constantly throw it out there. You're an amazing and very talented photographer. And based on the type of shots you produce, you definitely need to the resolution that Nikon is currently providing, or perhaps that which a medium-format or large-format camera can produce. But please, let folks have a conversation without pushing Nikon so hard. Bryan Because you can't comment on a camera in isolation - you need something to compare it against. So it's logical to compare it against its predecessor (5D2), its main competitors (Nikon bodies), as well as the best product out there for the parameter in question (varies, depending on the parameter).

Will it continue to plague us as it does with the 5D2? It's not really banding, but it is still clearly 'blotchy'...

I've been waiting for a 5D for ages and didn't feel the 5D II was right for me. 2 Stops better than the 5D II w/ good AF & FPS is more than enough reason for me to jump. 5D III, 24-105mm f/4 L, 135mm f/2 L, 70-200mm f/4 IS L, 580EX II

A lot of videographers had issues with moire because the AA filter was weaker than what they would normally have used in a video camera. By the appearance of the low-ISO samples (thus taking noise reduction out of the equation) the 5D3 seems to have a significantly stronger AA filter than the 5D2. It doesn't. Check the CPN site.
